Annette Trunschke leads the “Catalysis with Oxides Group” at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in Berlin. She received her diploma in chemistry from the University of Jena, Germany and completed her doctorate in the field of catalysis. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the LMU Munich, supported by an Alexander von Humboldt scholarship. Her research interests are in the field of activation of small molecules on catalyst surfaces in the context of sustainable synthesis of valuable chemical products, energy storage and conversion. She deals with catalyst synthesis, the investigation of dynamic processes at interfaces by operando spectroscopy, and digitalization and FAIR data in heterogeneous catalysis.
