The 2025 Scientific Advisory Board

The Scientific Advisory Board serves as the central advisory body for the Fritz Haber Institute, offering recommendations and guidance. Regular evaluations of its institutes are crucial for the Max Planck Society, enhancing its self-regulation and ensuring accountability for the effective use of resources.

The board's international and high-caliber membership provides valuable external expertise. It includes renowned scientists from Germany and abroad, typically not affiliated with the Max Planck Society.
The board's composition is designed to meaningfully represent the Institute's research spectrum and to incorporate expertise on the German science system. This also fosters a global network of supporters, benefiting both the Fritz Haber Institute and the Max Planck Society.

Scientific Advisory Board visits occur every three years, marking significant events in the Institute's calendar. These visits focus on reviewing the report and facilitating personal contact and scientific exchange between board members and the Institute's scientists.

The 22nd meeting of the Fritz Haber Institute's Scientific Advisory Board has taken place from November 11 to 14.
