Open Positions

 

We especially encourage early career researcher to apply for internships and thesis stays in our group. We also welcome applications for both doctoral and postdoctoral coworkers to join our efforts to develop and employ state-of-the-art IR spectroscopy in the gas phase at any time.

Potential topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Development of messenger-tagging IR spectroscopy approaches for the characterisation of mass and mobility selected ions
  • Two-colour experiments with the in-house FHI FEL in helium nanodroplets
  • Application to exciting projects in amyloid research, fundamental physical chemistry (e.g. hydrogen bonding), and carbocations

Requirements:

  • A MSc degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics or Physical Chemistry with excellent grades in relevant courses.
  • Affinity for performing complex experiments with a high drive to solve scientific and practical/instrumental challenges.
  • Experience with molecular simulations (e.g. ab-initio, DFT) and programming languages (e.g. Matlab or Python) is preferred.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work in an international research environment.
