This prestigious event marks a significant milestone for the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society, with the admission into this prestigious academy of Prof. Dr. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya, the Managing Director of the FHI and Director of the Interface Science Department.

In addition to Prof. Dr. Roldán Cuenya, we are delighted to share the news that also Prof. Dr. Jennifer Rupp, a professor at the Technical University of Munich and a Max Planck Fellow at the Fritz Haber Institute since 2024, has also been inducted as a new member of the Leopoldina. The Max Planck Fellow Program promotes collaboration between distinguished university professors and scientists within the Max Planck Society to support innovative research projects and strengthen scientific exchange.
The Fritz Haber Institute is proud to collaborate with such inspiring leaders as Prof. Dr. Roldán Cuenya and Prof. Dr. Rupp. Their contributions to science and their roles as mentors and role models for early career researchers are invaluable.

In the announcement from March 2024, you will find more information about the election of Prof. Dr. Roldán Cuenya's to the Leopoldina and her groundbreaking work in the field of interface science. Her election was a historic milestone for the institute, marking her as the first woman director and the only active member of the institute's leadership within the Leopoldina.
The Leopoldina, is the oldest continuously existing scientific and medical academy in the world. With its 371-year history of scientific excellence and interdisciplinary cooperation, continues to represent the pinnacle of the scientific community. With only about 15% of its members being female, the inclusion of Prof. Dr. Roldán Cuenya and Prof. Dr. Rupp underscores the importance of their work in advancing scientific discovery.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both Prof. Dr. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya and Prof. Dr. Jennifer Rupp on this honorable recognition and look forward to their continued contributions to science and society.
