Reactor laboratory at IRIS HU Adlershof
The reactor laboratory on 265 m2 houses 19 catalyst testing setups, enabling a wide range of reaction measurements and experiments. Six of them are designed for reaction measurements at ambient pressure used for reactions such as the partial oxidation of hydrocarbons, the oxidative coupling of methane, propane dehydrogenation, CO2/CO hydrogenation, CO oxidation and ammonia decomposition. Five other systems are designed for reaction measurements at high pressure used for CO2/CO hydrogenation and ammonia synthesis.
There are also three parallel reactors: two operating at ambient pressure (with 10 and 8 units, respectively) and one operating at up to 150 bar with 6 units. In addition, four systems are available for temperature-programmed experiments such as TPO, TPR, TPD and TP-reactions. For mechanistic investigations, there are two specialized systems, including an SSITKA/Pulse reactor setup for isotope experiments and a Berty reactor. In addition, the laboratory has a system for thermal pretreatment of catalysts and a system for thermal desorption spectroscopy in ultra-high vacuum (UHV).
