Girls' Day 2024 the the Fritz Haber Institute

May 03, 2024

The Girls' Day at the Fritz Haber Institute offers a unique opportunity for young participants to discover the diversity of professions in a leading research institution that focuses on the frontier areas of chemistry and physics.

Once again, an inspiring Girls' Day was held at the Fritz Haber Institute, highlighting our joy and gratitude for being able to participate in this important initiative each year. The day was a complete success, thanks in no small part to the extraordinary commitment and creativity of our colleagues who planned, prepared, and conducted the various stations with great care and enthusiasm.

The girls were divided into groups and led through various stations, where they not only got to know the laboratories and their equipment but also actively participated in scientific experiments and implemented their own projects. This hands-on approach allowed the participants to develop a deep understanding of the work and challenges in the fields of physics, chemistry, engineering, and electronics.

Particularly noteworthy is the diversity of professionals – from physicists, chemists, technicians, engineers, laboratory assistants, mechanics to trainees – who willingly shared their knowledge, answered questions, and encouraged the girls to pursue their own scientific interests.

We are deeply grateful for the passion and commitment of our colleagues, who made this day an unforgettable experience. Their work not only highlights the importance of promoting women in STEM professions but also significantly contributes to inspiring and motivating the next generation of female scientists.

Girls' Day at the Fritz Haber Institute is a shining example of how important and enriching it is to excite young people, especially girls, about science and technology. We look forward to the next event and to continuing to contribute to the promotion of diversity and equality in science.
