Baton Pass at the FHI

Since January 2024, Prof. Dr. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya is the new Managing Director at the Institute.

Prof. Dr. Martin Wolf, Director of the Department of Physical Chemistry, has concluded his two-year term as the Managing Director at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society. This change is part of the institute's practice of rotating the management every two years to ensure dynamic and diverse leadership. His term as Managing Director has been greatly appreciated by all.

From January 2024, Prof. Dr. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya takes the baton. She is the first female director at the institute and thus also the first female Managing Director in the over 100-year history of the institute. Since 2017, she has been the Director of the Department of Interface Science at the institute.

This change in leadership marks a significant milestone in the history of the Fritz Haber Institute and we look forward to the future contributions of Prof. Dr. Roldán Cuenya in her new role.
