Establishing a New Canadian IR-FEL Program of Research
The Canadian research community is planning to create a new national program for IR-FEL-based research.

The first step towards implementing this national plan requires new, state-of-the-art infrastructure to be created through a multi-phase approach that includes the development of instrumentation and components for linac-based light sources, the construction of an IR-FEL national user facility at the University of Waterloo, and upgrade of several existing research laboratories across Canada to act as regional hubs for discovery prior to utilization of national facilities at TRIUMF, the Canadian Light Source, and Waterloo. This seminar will provide an overview of the proposed program and describe possible directions for collaborative research.
