Empowering Women in the Workplace: Successful Workshop on Communication Skills
The Gender Equality Officers at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society recently hosted an impactful workshop entitled "Workplace Communication for Women," featuring expert insights from a Planck Academy trainer.
Kristin Raabe, the Planck Academy trainer provided an invaluable platform for 15 female researchers at different stages of their careers, to enhance their communication skills in a supportive and empowering environment. The workshop offered a great opportunity for participants to find their own voice and experiment with various communication strategies. It was designed as a one-day intensive session, including the following key modules:
• Be Concise: Formulating Core Messages, delivering clear and impactful messages.
• Find Your Voice: Take Credit Where Credit is Due, empowering women to confidently acknowledge and claim their achievements.
• Body Language: Present Yourself with Confidence, enhancing non-verbal communication and project self-assurance.
• Flagging & Bridging: Take Control of the Conversation, steering discussions and maintaining control over dialogue.
• Meetings: Speak Up and Don’t Let Yourself Be Interrupted, encouraging assertiveness and ensuring women's voices are heard in meetings.
