DESCRIPTION:Change notice: PC Department Seminar\nThe use of ultrashort lig
ht pulses on the femtosecond timescale enables the manipulation of magneti
c order at its fundamental temporal and spatial limits\, giving rise to in
triguing phenomena such as ultrafast demagnetization\, optically induced s
 uperdiffusive spin transport\, and all-optical magnetization switching.Thi
s talk presents recent advances in ultrafast magnetism enabled by extreme-
ultraviolet (XUV) magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) spectroscopy using hi
gh-harmonic generation sources\, which provide element-specific access to
femtosecond magnetization dynamics. The work clarifies how dielectric prop
erties\, multilayer interference\, and interface effects shape XUV magneto
-optical observables\, establishing a framework for quantitative studies o
f femtomagnetism and all-optical switching phenomena.\nSpeaker: Johanna Ri
